India Beat are very excited to be collaborating with New Zealand celebrity chef, Peta Mathias MNZM. We have put together an incredible, curated itinerary, designed by Peta that takes you to all of Peta’s favourite places in India. Here is Peta’s introduction:
Hi – I’m Peta Mathias, a New Zealand gastronomic tour host, author and cooking teacher. I’ve been enchanted by India for a very long time and have hosted group tours with India Beat since 2014. Now I am offering this curated bespoke journey – be very ready for ten days of fabulous sensory overload in four destinations India. There are two options – buy the tour as is with guide or for an extra fee buy the tour with me accompanying and hosting you. My big thing is food and how to access a culture through its cuisine so there are several cooking classes along with all the other fabulous food in restaurants, hotels and people’s homes you visit. My other big thing is shopping for beautiful clothes and textiles so there’s lots of helpful visits to the best shops. I will provide you with a shopping list. Try and find a copy of my book ‘Hot Pink Spice Saga’ and you will see exactly what happens on the tour.
This trip takes to the very different locations of Jaipur, Goa, Kolkata and Darjeeling. India is a land of extremes and this tour encompasses spicy cooking lessons, shopping, magical candle lit feasts, camel cart rides, farm and villages visits, accommodation in old palaces and sumptuous resorts. You have the opportunity to try fabric block printing in Jaipur, cook with coconut and seafood in the beach paradise of Goa, enjoy a Bengalis feast in a beautiful heritage apartment in Kolkata and learn how to taste and grade tea in Darjeeling.
The starting price for this trip is USD 6138 per person for 11 nights/12 days and includes domestic flights, accommodation, private guiding, special access opportunities and most meals. The trip can be booked at any time; please contact us to see the itinerary in detail.
